Black Opal displays
are a family of rugged, high performance flat panel display systems suitable
for land, sea, and airborne vehicles and other demanding environments. Rugged
enclosure and internal mechanics withstand high levels of shock and vibration
(selected from MIL-STD-810E). Extended temperature operation. MilSpec connectors.
Toughened glass window. EMI/EMC shielding (MIL-STD-461 D) including conductive
window coatings. Robust and versatile power supply, 20 to 33Vdc input, complies
with QSTAG 307.
Unparalleled video processing power offers a comprehensive range of video
processing and enhancement functions, including:
 |
|
Image
Enhancement applies to whichever video input has been assigned
to fill the screen. That input is compensated for obscuration (e.g.
rain, fog, dust, snow, mist, smog or smoke) within an adjustable central
window where contrast and colour are enhanced. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
Fully
interpolated adjustable digital zoom. The
Zoom feature applies to whichever video
input has been as signed to fill the
screen. It is a fully X & Y interpolated “smart” zoom,
not merely pixel multiplying, yielding
a clear zoomed image without the blocky “pixelated” appearance
often seen with digital zooming.
The
range is 0.7X to 10X for PAL inputs
and 1X to 16X for NTSC inputs. This
feature can be applied to normal or
frozen images. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The
Freeze Frame feature freezes whichever input has been assigned
to fill the screen, while leaving live any video inset. This feature
can be applied to normal, zoomed, enhanced or zoomed-&-enhanced
images. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
The
Motion Compensation feature applies
to whichever video input has been assigned
to fill the screen, minimising the
jagged edges that can occur with motion
in video on LCDs.
The feature may be
manually enabled, or set to auto. In
the latter case it is applied whenever
the apparent speed of a frame (e.g.
when panning) or of an object in a
frame (e.g. a vehicle) exceeds a preset
threshold. |
| |
|
|
 |
|
The
Pseudo Colour feature converts greyscale images to colour as either:
Rainbow - greyscale to colourscale based on the spectral rainbow (two
versions) or Ironbow - greyscale to colourscale based on the colour
temperature spectrum of iron.
Custom design and different options are
available like Touch screen, NVG compatible,
XGA, Sunlight readable, MIL spec mounting
bracket,10-19 VDC input, fully sealed
housing etc. |

Mil
Spec mounting bracket
This bracket is mounted to the sides of the main body of the display
unit. It is adjustable in two dimensions, allowing the display
unit to be rotated around the vertical and horizontal axes. Locking
pins secure the display in the desired orientation. The bracket is
mounted using four 1/4” diameter clearance holes located in
the top section. |
